Men's Basketball Takes on Crosstown Rival Adrian, IU-South Bend and Aquinas to Close Winter Break

THE GAMES
The Siena Heights men's basketball team returns to action on Thursday against crosstown rival Adrian after eight days without competition. Tipoff for the non-conference contest is set for 7 p.m. at Adrian College. Last year, Siena Heights brought down Adrian 78-59 to claim the Milk Jug trophy in the annual "Our Town" contest. Saturday, the Saints will host IU-South Bend for a 3 p.m. prior to returning to Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference action at Aquinas on Wednesday at 8 p.m.

SHU is currently 5-7 overall with a 3-5 WHAC slate. In their last contest, the Saints fell 72-66 to non-conference team Roosevelt on Tuesday, Dec. 19. As a team, Siena Heights averages 72.0 points per game with a 47.8% shooting percentage from the floor, including 30.3% three-point percentage and 68.6% from the free throw line. The Saints average 34.8 rebounds, 11.3 assists and 5.6 steals per game.

Adrian sits at 7-2 this season, averaging 75.1 points per game while earning a 48.5% shooting percentage, accompanied by a 38.2% three-point percentage and 69.4% from the charity stripe. The Bulldogs average 35.1 rebound and 10.3 assists per game.

IU-South Bend (Ind.) holds an overall record of 9-7 as the Titans average 76.3 points a game while shooting 43.1% from the floor. Behind the arc, the Titans hold a 31.6% shooting percentage and hold a 72.0% from the line. IUSB manages an average of 40.8 rebounds a game and 14.4 assists a game.

WHAC opponent Aquinas has an overall record of 8-8, including a conference record of 4-3. The AQ Saints average 71.9 points per contest, earning a 46.9% shooting percentage, 35.8% three-point percentage and 62.7% free throw percentage. AQ also earns an average of 34.1 rebounds per game and 11.8 assists per game.

PLAYERS TO WATCH
Leading the Saints with 14.1 points per game is Tony Jackson II, also leading SHU with 8.4 rebounds per game and 61.3% shooting percentage. Nick Randle averages 12.5 points a game while earning a team-high 38 assists on the season. Both Jackson and Randle add 14 steals this season, Jackson tacking on 37 assists and six blocks. Keith Jordan Jr. continues to help the Saints down low with an average of 10.8 points a game and 5.4 rebounds, adding 11 steals and five blocks.

For the Bulldogs, Justin Weber leads the attack with 20.6 points and 9.7 boards per game. With 12.7 points per game and 4.7 rebounds a game, Jeremy Kalonji helped AC.

IU-South Bend is led by Taylor Brooks who averages 12.4 points and 7.5 rebounds per game. He has earned 28 blocks and 14 steals so far this season.

Aquinas is led by Arsenio Arrington, the lone Saint to start every contest, earning 15.7 points per game and a team-leading 5.0 boards per game. Arrington has also managed 29 assists, 15 blocks and eight steals this season. Rob Diez helps AQ with 9.3 points per game.
