Men’s Wrestling Set to Debut at Home for the First Time in Over 30 Years

ADRIAN, Mich. – After two cancellations and opponent swaps, the Siena Heights men's wrestling team is finally set to debut inside of the SHU Fieldhouse on Tuesday, February 1. The Saints will host Cornerstone and Cleary in a Tri-Match that starts at 7:30 p.m.

"Hosting the first home contest at Siena in 30 plus years is a huge step in the correct direction in terms of reviving this program," said head coach Derrik Marry. "The guys and I couldn't be more excited to be the ones to pick up the torch and continue where our alumni and fellow Saints left off all those years ago. I look forward to this event and what it means to all those that pushed and persisted in their efforts to get wrestling reinstated at Siena Heights. The first of many great nights to come!"

The Saint grapplers have competed in two duals so far this season along with three tournaments (one invitational and two opens). So far this season, SHU has had multiple wrestlers finish in the top five of their weight class including Jaylen Culver who finished second in the 285 class at the Hawk Invite back in December.

The matches on Tuesday are the only home events scheduled for the 2021-22 season. The matches can be attended live by purchasing tickets here or by watching the live stream on YouTube here.
