Joudiel Poveymirow Claims First WHAC Defender of the Week of 2022

ADRIAN, Mich. -- Siena Heights senior libero Joudiel Poveymirow was named the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) men's volleyball defender of the week when the league office announced the weekly awards on Monday afternoon. 

Poveymirow had a great week for the Saints as he led the defensive efforts with 34 digs in two matches for a 4.86 digs/set mark to help lead SHU to a 2-0 week. The Orlando, Florida native currently sits fourth in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) with 3.57 digs/set. 

This is the third WHAC weekly award for Poveymirow's career (he won this distinction twice in 2021). This is the third WHAC award for the men's volleyball team for the 2022 season.

The reigning WHAC Libero of the year will lead the Saints onto the court this Saturday, February 19 on the road against No. 7, Indiana Tech at 3:00 p.m.
