Men's Basketball Falls to IU South Bend in Late Second Half Surge

South Bend, Ind. -- The Siena Heights men's basketball team took on IU South Bend and fell to the Titans 65-47 on Thursday. Jonny Bowers led the Saints on the evening with 13 points and seven rebounds off the bench. Also off of the bench, Colin Nutter had a solid evening with 12 points and eight rebounds. 

In the first nine minutes of the first half, the Saints jumped to a 12-5 lead. After the second media timeout, IU South Bend went on a 16-1 run to take a 21-13 lead with 5:40 left in the first half. The Saints however responded with a 10-4 run of their own, with Colin Nutter hitting a buzzer-beater jump shot to pull the Saints within two the half at 25-23. 

In the second half, it was back and forth like the first half, with IU South Bend leading by one at 47-46 with 5:00 left to go in the game. From that point on, the Titans ended the game on an 18-1 run to win 65-47. 

From the field, the Saints shot 34.5%, 11.1% from three, corralled 33 rebounds, and turned the ball over 14 times. 

 

Next up, The Saints will be back in action on Saturday, December, 30th at noon at Spring Arbor University.
