Four Saints Earn WHAC Men's Basketball Honors

Four members of the Siena Heights men's basketball team earned 2020 postseason honors by the Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference as announced by the league office on Wednesday, February 26th. 

DeMarco Dickerson (Senior, Detroit, Mich.) earned two honors on the season, WHAC First-Team All-Conference and WHAC All-Academic. Dickerson started in all 30 games for the Saints and reached his 1,000-point milestone as he led the team averaging 20.5 points, 6.7 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 1.4 steals per game.  He holds a 47.9 shooting percentage, a 33.1 three-point percentage, and a 80.7 free-throw percentage. He was also tabbed WHAC men's basketball player of the week on December 9th. DeMarco is ranked 14th in Divison II in Total Scoring (614), 25th in points per game (20.467), 47th in total assists (106), and 49th in free throw percentage (0.807). These end of the season WHAC honors are Dickerson's second of his career. 

Keith Jordan Jr. (Senior, Toledo, Ohio) was named WHAC First-Team All-Conference. Jordan appeared in 30 games and started 26 for Siena and reached his 1,000-point milestone as he averaged 17.9 points, 7.6 rebounds, one assist, and 1.4 steals per game. He has a three-point percentage of 41.9, which is the second-highest on the team and a 79.6 free-throw percentage. Keith also earned WHAC men's basketball player of the week on January 20th. Jordan is ranked 41st in Division II in total scoring (536) and 43rd in total rebounds (228). These are Jordan's second WHAC end of the season honors of his career.

Kevin Smith II (Senior, Detroit, Mich.) took home two honors this season, WHAC All-Defensive Team and Champions of Character Team. Smith appeared in 25 games and started 26 for the Saints as he averaged 7.6 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game. He holds a 46.3 shooting percentage, a 35.2 three-point percentage, and a 61.1 free-throw percentage. Kevin helped Siena defensively as he averaged 1.7 defensive rebounds and one steal per game. These end of the season WHAC honors are Smith's second of his career.

Jon Hovermale (Senior, Livonia, Mich.) was tabbed to the WHAC All-Academic Team. Hovermale appeared in 28 games while starting 13 for Siena as he averaged 2.8 points, one rebound, and assist per game. He holds a 43.3 shooting percentage, a 35.7 three-point percentage, and a 100 free-throw percentage. These are Hovermale's second WHAC end of the season honors of his career.

The Siena Heights men's basketball team travels to face 14th-ranked Madonna tonight at 7:00 p.m. for the quarterfinal round of the WHAC Tournament.
