Men's Basketball Set to Play in WHAC Tournament

ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights men's basketball team will face Madonna in the quarterfinal round of the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) tournament on Wednesday, February 26th at 7:00 P.M. EST in the MU Activities Center.

Siena is the seventh seed in the tournament with a 9-11 conference record and a 13-17 overall record. The Crusaders are the second seed in the tournament as they earned a 14-6 conference record and a 22-8 overall record.

Siena Heights split the regular-season series against the Crusaders. The Saints won the first game 74-72 at Madonna as DeMarco Dickerson made a jump shot for the Saints with five seconds left of the game giving them the victory. In the second meeting at SHU, Madonna beat the Saints 89-58 as Siena held the Crusaders to an eight-point lead 29-21 in the first half. Madonna gained momentum in the second half and never looked back as they gained a cushion of 30 points earning the win.

Siena is led by DeMarco Dickerson (Senior, Detroit, Mich.) with 20.5 points and 6.4 rebounds per game. Another leader for the Saints is Keith Jordan Jr. (Senior, Toledo, Ohio) as he averages 17.9 points and 7.6 rebounds per game.

The Crusaders are led by Dwight Burton as he averages 23.0 points and 3.8 rebounds per game. Also leading is Joshua Reynolds with 19.8 points and 4.8 rebounds per game.

The winner of this matchup will face the winner of the number sixth seed UM-Dearborn (10-10, 17-13) versus the number third seed Rochester (13-7, 21-9).
