The Siena Heights women's soccer team prepares for their final week of regular season play as they travel to Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference opponents Rochester and No. 3 Northwestern Ohio. On Tuesday, the Saints head to the Ultimate Soccer Arena in Pontiac, Mich. to take on RC in a 2 p.m. match. To conclude the regular season, SHU will face third-ranked UNOH in a 12 p.m. contest, on Saturday.
Overall, the Saints hold a 8-5-2 record with a 5-1-2 WHAC slate after their 3-2 overtime victory over Indiana Tech last Wednesday. Leading Siena Heights is forward Samantha Bartelotti who has six goals and seven assists. She's followed closely by Taylor Mulder who has four goals and three assists. Goalkeeper Meghan Bogg has played in eight games, earning a 1.02 goals against average and .825 save percentage.
The RC Warriors are currently 4-11-0 and 1-7-0 in the first year in the WHAC. Last time the Saints and Rochester met was Sept. 15, 2015 as SHU won at RC, 2-0, with goals from Mulder and Paige Rachut as Bogg stopped two shots.
UNOH sits at 13-1-1 overall with a perfect 8-0-0 record in WHAC play. THe defending NAIA National Champions are currently ranked third. Prior to host SHU, the Racers will face Lawrence Tech on Wednesday. Last season, Siena Heights visited the Racers for the WHAC Tournament Semifinal and fell 3-0.
Next week, SHU will participate in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Tournament as they will finish in the top eight teams in the WHAC. Pending on the week's results, SHU will wait to see if they will be hosting a game.
