Strong Second Half Propels Women's Soccer to Victory Over Rochester

PONTIAC, Mich. — A strong second half propelled the Siena Heights women's soccer team to a 4-1 victory over Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference opponent Rochester, on Tuesday. 

Opening the scoring for the Saints was Samantha Bartelotti in the 6th-minute, finishing a pass from Taylor Mulder. The Warriors fought back as Ashlyn Taylor netted the equalizer for RC in the 40th-minute, sending a pass from Mackenzie Curtis into the upper corner of the goal. The 1-1 score held through halftime. 

With the game winner in the 55th-minute, Bartelotti volleyed one past the RC keeper off of a corner kick. Assisting the next two goals was Emily Burkman with finishes from Mulder in the 63rd-minute and Morgan Siterlet in the 79th-minute. 

Leading the Saints in shots was Danielle Eastman with four shots, Burkman managed three shots all on frame. Taryn Ryan took two shots for RC (4-12-0, 1-8-0 WHAC). 

Meghan Bogg started in goal for SHU, making two saves prior to getting relieved by Sophia Lentz at halftime. Lentz made three saves in the second half to earn the win. Cali Clemens made 11 stops for Rochester. 

Siena Heights (9-5-2, 6-1-2 WHAC) outshot the Warriors, 25-6, and held an 11-6 corner kick advantage. 

Next up, the Saints will travel to No. 3 Northwestern Ohio for their regular season finale. The WHAC contest will start at 12 p.m.
