Women's Basketball Set For Two WHAC Contests Against Concordia and Michigan-Dearborn

THE GAMES
The Siena Heights women's basketball team will take on two Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference oppnents this week as they host Concordia on Wednesday and then travel to take on Michigan-Dearborn on Saturday.

Last week the Saints went 1-1 after defeating Lourdes, 73-68 and then falling to No. 9 Indiana Tech, 71-54. To date, Siena Heights is 11-9 overall and 5-6 in the WHAC. As a team, SHU is averaging 64.3 points per game and shooting 38.3% from the floor. From three the Saints are cashing in on 29.4% of their attempts and 62% from the free throw line.

Concordia is 13-7 overall on the season and 7-5 in WHAC play. The Cardinals average 71.5 points per contest and are shooting 40.1% from the field, 34.1% from three and 67.6% from the charity stripe. Last week CUAA fell to Cornerstone before defeating Madonna.

The Wolverines are 6-15 on the seaon and 1-11 in WHAC action. Michigan-Dearborn grabbed its first WHAC victory over Lourdes last week by a score of 65-57, after falling to Aquinas. The Wolverines as a team are averaging 56.3 points per game and knocking down 35% of their field goal attempts. From behind the arc Michigan-Dearborn is shooting 29.3% and 65.2% from the free throw line.

PLAYERS TO WATCH
The Saints are led by Demi Russell with 10.1 points per game. Alyssa Larson has been able to pull down a team high of 7.6 rebounds per game and blocked 1.1 shots per game. Azalea Miller has dished out 3.5 assists per contest.

CUAA is led by Kara Borowiak averaging 19.7 points per game, 5.9 assists and 2.3 steals. Karlee Morris is the leader on the glass with 5.4 rebounds per game while Tris'styn Williams is the Cardinal's blocks leader with 1.75 per game.

Sade Lemons leads the Wolverines with 12.5 points per game and 5.4 rebounds per game. Meredith Williams has contributed 4.6 assists and 3.23 steals per contest.

NEXT UP
The Siena Heights women's basketball team will host Northwestern Ohio on Wednesday, Jan. 24 in a WHAC match-up at 6 p.m. On Saturday Jan. 27, the Saints will take on No. 20 Lawrence Tech in the annual Pink Game. Women's JV will tip off at 3 p.m. followed by women's varsity at 5:30 p.m. and men's varsity at 7:30 p.m.
