Women's Basketball Falls to Concordia in WHAC Action

ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights women's basketball team hosted Concordia in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference contest on Wednesday. The Saints fell to the Cardinals 53-68.

Concordia scored 28 points in the first period and set the tone from there. Each team scored ten in the second period, sending the Saints into halftime with a 38-30 deficit. In the third period Siena Heights was able to cut the margin to trail by six, but did not have enough to make the comeback.

From the floor, Siena Heights shot 22-56 (39.3%), 6-11 (54.5%) from three and just 3-7 (42.9%) from the free throw line. Concordia cashed in on 25-55 (45.5%) from the field, 8-22 (36.4%) from behind the arc and 10-15 (66.7%) from the charity stripe.

Demi Russell led the Saints with 17 points, Azalea Miller added ten points and a team high four assists. Alyssa Larson grabbed ten rebounds to lead Siena Heights and also finished with two blocks.

Kari Borowiak completed the game with a game high, 27 points and dished out four assists. Tris'styn Williams pulled down a team high, ten rebounds.

Next up, the Saints will travel to take on Michigan-Dearborn in a WHAC contest on Saturday, Jan. 20. Tip off is set for 1 p.m.
