HEAD COACH: Joe Pechota enters his 11th season as the head coach of the Siena Heights men's basketball program. Pechota has a career record of 217-295 which includes his 113 wins with the Saints program. He assisted this season by graduate assistant Aaron Herbst, assistant Darius Wilson and director of basketball operations Ryan Mann.

LAST TIME OUT: The Saints went 1-1 last week, starting with a 106-98 win over Michigan-Dearborn at home. SHU then lost to Lawrence Tech, 72-61. 

 
Against UMD, junior college transfer Muhammed Zoure scored 36 points in his Siena Heights debut. Zoure, a center from Oakland Community College, finished 14 of 15 from the field and 8 of 12 from the free-throw line. He fell two points short of the single-game school record of 38, which is shared by Jerome Jones (vs. Grand Valley State, Feb. 4, 1981) and Cecil Clark (vs. Saint Xavier, Dec. 21, 2011). Delano Williams added 22 points and Davin Walker contributed 15 points, six assists and five rebounds.
 
In the loss to LTU, the Saints trailed by 18 points in the first half before closing to 48-44 in the second. The Blue Devils eventually pulled away with a 17-3 stretch. Williams led SHU with 19 points and five rebounds. Bell added 14 points while Walker had an all-around effort with 12 points, seven rebounds, seven steals, five assists and two blocks.
 
 
TOP PERFORMERS: Zoure and Williams have stepped in and made an immediate impact for the Saints. Through his first two games, Zoure has averaged 21.5 points and six rebounds. Williams, a transfer from Macomb Community College, has an average of 19.5 points through four contest.
 
Curtis Bell III remains one of SHU's top performers in several categories, averaging 15.1 points, 8.4 rebounds and 2.4 steals. Davin Walker has averages of 12.3 points and 2.1 steals.
