Upcoming for Saints Baseball: The Saints look ahead to six conference games that will all take place at home after a 10-day pause due to COVID-19.
 
Head Coach: John Kolasinski enters his 18th season as the head coach for the Saints and his 35th season as a collegiate head coach. Currently, Kolasinski has accumulated a career record of 536-766-1 in over 30 years of coaching. The skipper won his 500th career game on March 6th, 2019 when the Saints beat Bethel 22-9. Kolasinski currently stands as the coach with the second-most wins in Siena Heights baseball history. His best season was his 33-25 record in 2012 -- a 25-win improvement over the previous season.
 
Spectator Policy: Siena Heights University announced the restriction of fan attendance at SHU home athletic events to only a limited number of students living on campus. Spectators are NOT allowed to watch from Siena Heights property, including parking lots and the service drive. The service drive is a fire lane and vehicles will be towed. Please follow shusaints.com for all updated information as the situation remains fluid.
 
At Home: The Saints are 3-12 at home so far this season. They won two non-conference games against Lawrence Tech and one non-conference game against Rochester. 
 
On the Road: The Saints are 3-6 on the road so far in the season. They have won two games against Rochester and one against Goshen (Ind.).
 
Conference Play: The Saints currently have a 2-3 conference record. They won both games against Rochester while dropping a doubleheader to Cornerstone and a single game to Cleary.
 
Pre-Pause Recap: On April 6th, the Saints faced Spring Arbor in a non-conference doubleheader. SHU dropped both games 6-5 and 2-1. In-game one, Jarrett Cousino earned the loss on the mound for SHU pitching 1.2 innings allowing four hits, five runs, five walks while striking out two batters. The Saints struck first in the 2nd-inning when Parker Mabe doubled to right-center and scored on the double to right-center by Brad South. Haydn Smith hit a sacrifice fly to center for an RBI that scored Brad South. Adam Wilding singled to center field scoring Cal Olmstead for an RBI.SHU earned two runs in the 6th-inning as Jacob Jackson singled to center that scored Jakob Scroggie for an RBI. In-game two, Ryan Sullivan had the loss on the mound for the Saints as he pitched 1.0 innings allowing two hits and one run. Siena's final push came up short in the 5th-inning as they earned one run when Brad South reached base on an error by the shortstop and scored as Cole VanWasshenova doubled to right field for an RBI.
 
Series History: Cleary - This will be the second time the teams meet this season as they faced each other last week in a conference single game as the Cougars won 6-1. The last time the two teams played before this season was in 2019 on April 10th for a non-conference doubleheader. The second game ended up getting canceled but the Cougars won the first game 6-5 in 9 innings. 
 
Michigan-Dearborn - This will be the first time the teams play against each other this season. The last time the two teams met was last season during the team's spring training trips in Flordia as the Saints won 10-4 earning their second win of the season. 
 
Concordia - This will be the first time the teams face each other this season. The last time the two teams met was in the 2019 season on April 27th for a conference doubleheader. The Saints lost both games 10-0 and 10-2.
 
Madonna - The Crusaders hold the all-time record against the Saints 49-13. They have a 20-7 home record, a 20-6 away record, and a 38-12 conference record in the series. The last time the teams met was in the 2019 season on April 28th as they split. 
 
Scouting Report: Cleary - The Cougars are 10-18 overall and 3-6 in the WHAC. Aaron Dyke has the team's highest batting average (.500) and on-base percentage (.542). Jesse Fishbaum and Anthony Lacle lead the team in runs (17). Lacel also leads the team in stolen bases (6), walks (13), and slugging percentage (.559). Fishbaum also leads the team in hits (29). Jeremy VanOosterum has the most doubles (6) and RBIs (15). Garrett Larner leads Cleary on the mound with a 7.98 ERA, 29.1 innings pitched, and 35 strikeouts.
 
Michigan-Dearborn - The Wolverines are 2-2 overall and in the conference so far in the season. Max Mclennan leads the team in batting average (.400). Ramiro Rodriguez has the team's highest on-base percentage (.556). Antonio Carta has the highest slugging percentage (.867), double (2), home runs (2), and RBIs (5). Shaun Hannibal leads the team in hits (7). Andrew Capone has the highest runs (7). 
 
Concordia - The Cardinals are 27-13 overall and 11-3 in the conference. Calvin Syrjala leads the team in batting average (.346), slugging percentage (.692), RBIs (38), and home runs (8). RJ Bortle had the team's highest on-base percentage (.478). Adam Purdy leads the team in runs (35), and hits (41).  Grant Steinborn has the most walks (27) and Adam Purdy has the most stolen bases (20). Joe Tany leads Concordia on the mound with a 3.20 ERA, 45 innings pitched, 20 strikeouts, and a record of 3-3.
 
Madonna - The Crusaders are 8-9 overall and 4-4 in conference play on the season. Steffan Dyl leads the team in batting average (.364). Zachary Beadle has the team's highest slugging percentage (.551). Alek Garbacik has the most runs scored (12). Adrian Reed has the highest hits (24), triples (4), and RBIs (11). Jace Matkin leads the team in RBIs (11). Noah Moore has the most walks (12) and Jace Matkins has the highest (8).
