Siena Heights sophomore Xochitl Garcia was named the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week by the league office today.
Garcia was the top finisher for SHU at the Lourdes Terracotta Invitational on Friday morning. She placed fourth in the race with a time of 20:21.1 to help lead the Saints to a second-place finish at the meet. She was the top finisher out of all the NAIA cross country runners.
This is the first WHAC women's runner of the week around for the Saints this season and the second of Garcia's career.
The Saints return to action on Saturday, October 23 for the Great Lakes Invitational at Riverside Park in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
