The third seed, Siena Heights women's volleyball team will take on the second seed, and No. 18 ranked in the NAIA DII Coach's Poll, Cornerstone, in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference tournament semifinals on Friday. First serve is set for 5:00 p.m. and will be played at Madonna in Livonia, Mich. The first and fourth seed, No. 16 Madonna and Lourdes will face off at 7:30 p.m. in the second semifinal contest.
Last time the Saints and Golden Eagles met, was on Oct. 27. SHU dropped the contest 3-1, with set scores 25-22, 23-25, 23-25 and 18-25. SHU and CU also faced off earlier in the season on Sept. 27. Cornerstone swept the match 25-27, 11-25 and 19-25.
As the second seed, Cornerstone secured a bye to the semifinals and will open WHAC tournament play on Saturday against the Saints. Siena Heights received a bye to the second round where they defeated the seventh seed, Northwestern Ohio to advance to the semifinals against Cornerstone.
The winners of the two semifinal contests, will face off on Saturday, Nov. 11 at 1:00 p.m. in the WHAC tournament finals, also hosted by Madonna.
Price for admission is $7 for adults and $5 for students and seniors--parent passes will not be accepted for WHAC Tournament admission.
