Bakers, Tillotson Key SHU Women's Volleyball in Win over RMU

ADRIAN, Mich. -- Halie Baker had 14 kills while Brianna Baker contributed 10 kills and 10 digs as the Siena Heights women's volleyball team defeated Robert Morris (Ill.), 3-1, in non-conference competition at the SHU Fieldhouse. The Saints snapped a two-game skid.

Carly Tillotson added 21 assists and 12 digs, Lauren Baker made 13 assists, and Nicole Morgan finished with 17 digs for the Saints (7-5), who won with set scores of 25-18, 27-25, 20-25, 25-14.

Also for SHU, Julia Haupricht came through with six total blocks.

Siena Heights took command in the first set with a 7-1 run and then clawed its way to a win in the back-and-forth second set. The Saints led 24-22 before RMU tallied three straight points; the hosts then scored three straight points of their own to claim the set.

A 7-1 run by RMU helped the visitors win the third set before the Saints put together a dominating finish in the fourth.

The Saints snapped a 10-10 knot in the fourth with a 15-4 stretch, including the match's final 10 points.

Katie Rotkovich was RMU's top performer, finishing with 18 kills, while Allyson Murray came through with 14 kills and Myranda Cate had 39 assists and 10 digs.

Also for the Eagles (5-8), Megan Tompkins finished with 29 digs.

The Saints will return to action on Wednesday with a 7 p.m. Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference contest at Concordia.
