Siena Heights sophomore pole vaulter Tyler Fugate was voted the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) women's field athlete of the week when the league office announced the weekly award winners on Monday afternoon.
Fugate, a 2020-21 NAIA All-American in both indoor and outdoor, had a record-breaking performance this week as she won the pole vault event with a Siena Heights record height of 3.97m (13'0.25"). This height leads the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and is an A-Standard for the National Championship qualifying.
Fugate and the rest of her teammates are scheduled to return to competition on Friday, January 14, at Saginaw Valley State.
