Findlay Classic Provides Success for Women's Track and Field

FINDLAY, Ohio -- The Siena Heights women's track and Field Team had several top finishers in the Findlay Classic & Elite Throws meet, on Friday and Saturday.

Asia Gardner finished first in the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.76, a provisional qualifying time. Second place went to Mildrenae Young- Brooks, finishing in 7.85 seconds for another provisional time. Young-Brooks won the 60 meter hurdles in a provisional 9.08 seconds. Madisyn Kleinschmit took fifth place in the 60 meter dash with her time of 7.95.

Gardner again claimed first in the 200m dash, crossing the finish line in 25.60, an automatic-qualifying time. Young-Brooks took second with a provisional time of 25.87 seconds and Alexis Moore claimed third in 26.08 seconds.

In the 600 meter run, Brianna Pekel grabbed first place with a time of 1:41.74, almost four seconds ahead of the second place performer.

Charlena Williams leapt 10.95 meters, in the triple jump, good for first place. Julia Forbes took fifth with a jump of 10.06 meters.

The Saints' team of Tyriah Pryor, Delaney Stersic, Pekel and Moore claimed first place in the 4x400m relay in 4:05.78, beating Dayton by 0.03 seconds.

Madeline Auth took second place in the 400m dash in 1:12.06. Senior Tasha McKinley vaulted 3.70 meters and into second place, while Sheila McKinley took third with her vault of 3.55 meters, both automatic-qualifying heights.

Taking third place in the one mile run is Anna Buist with a time of 5:55.20. Eva Chmielewski placed third in the 3000 meter run in 11:44.52.

Siena Heights will be back in action on Friday and Saturday at the Hillsdale Widetrack Meet.
