Asia Gardner, Siena Heights women's track and field team member, opens the indoor season as the first Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Track Athlete of the Week, as announced on Monday.

The sophomore sprinter ran a 7.72 in the preliminary round and 7.73 in the finals of the 60 meter dash to earn an automatic mark in the first meet of the season. This time currently ranks her No. 1 time in the NAIA. She also managed anautomatic time of 25.05 seconds (25.44 converted) in the 200m dash, which marks her second in the NAIA.

This is Gardners first WHAC Athlete of the Week honor.
