Women's Track & Field Travels to NAIA National Championships

The Siena Heights women's track and field team travels to Gulf Shores, Alabama for the 37th Annual Women's Outdoor Track and Field National Championships. The events will take place Thursday-Saturday (May 25-27) at the Mickey Miller Blackwell Stadium. The Saints have 17 athletes qualifying in 12 different events.

Six different athletes rank in the NAIA top ten heading to the Championships. Ranking second in the NAIA is Marissa Johnson in the high jump. Asia Gardner is currently fifth in the 100m dash and eighth in the 200m dash. In the 400m dash, Alexis Moore currently ranks fifth.

Tasha McKinley and Sheila McKinley rank fourth and seventh in the pole vault, respectively. Holding onto sixth in both the discus throw and the hammer throw is Ashley O'Neill. The Saints 4x100m relay team and the 4x800m relay team each sit at seventh.

SIENA HEIGHTS QUALIFYING ATHLETES

The Saints currently rank eighth in the USTFCCCA poll for the NAIA National Championship Rankings. Close behind Siena Heights in 10th is WHAC member Aquinas while Indiana Tech ranks second behind Wayland Baptist (Texas) in the top spot.
