Oliver To Receive USC Letter of Commendation

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Siena Heights women's soccer coach Scott Oliver will receive the USC Letter of Commendation, as announced by the United Soccer Coaches on Friday.

Oliver, who just completed his 23rd season as head coach, will be one of five recipients on Friday, Jan. 12, 2024, at the 84th annual USC Convention in Anaheim, Calif.

The USC recognizes a select few for their special contributions to the sport of soccer and the association's membership. The USC Letter of Commendation is presented to soccer personalities for their service to, impact on, and/or positive influence on the association and/or the game of soccer in the United States.

"I am humbled, appreciative and honored by the recognition," Oliver said. "I want to thank all my players and assistant coaches for their help and support over the years. Without them pushing me to become a servant leader, I do not know that this would have actually happened.

"I have always just tried to practice what I preach; the players and coaches are the ones that hold me accountable to do so. Lastly, I would like to thank all of the Siena Heights administrators I have worked for, because they have both encouraged me and supported me in the service of our coaches' association."

Oliver, a SHU alum with two bachelor's degrees and one master's degree, is the winningest soccer coach in SHU history with an overall record of 286-126-47. He has coached the Saints to six WHAC Tournament championships and five WHAC regular-season titles. Oliver is also a three-time WHAC Coach of the Year, most recently earning the award after coaching the SHU women's soccer team to a 2023 WHAC regular-season co-championship and NAIA Tournament berth.
