ADRIAN, Mich. -- Cameron Beach was a runner-up and Chase Packard recorded a fourth-place finish as the Siena Heights men's wrestling team competed at the Adrian Open.
Beach wrestled in the freshman/sophomore 125-pound weight class, earning victories in his first three matches before falling in the finals. Packard competed at freshman/sophomore 141, opening with a pair of wins before finishing the day 3-2.
Beach had two tech falls and a major decision over wrestlers from Toledo, Adrian and Jamestown (N.Y.) Community College. Beach fell via sudden victory in the finals to Jacob Campbell of Henry Ford College.
Packard had wins through tech fall, pinfall and decision against competitors from Adrian, Jamestown CC and Ohio Wesleyan. His defeat in the third-place match came to OWU's Gabe Bulugaris, whom Packard had defeated earlier in the bracket.
