CORBIN, Ky. -- Randy Frailey registered a third-place finish as the Siena Heights men's wrestling team opened its season at the Patriot Pepsi Open on Saturday.
Wrestling in the 133-pound open weight class, Frailey earned six straight victories in wrestlebacks after losing his opening match. He followed with wins in six different fashions: technical fall over Arlo Laxton (Lindsey Wilson), pinfall over Keyshaun Taylor (Brewton-Parker), decision over 18th-ranked Chandlar Akins (Cumberland, Ky.), major decision over Braden Haines (Marian), medical forfeit over Anthony Caruso (Midway) and no contest over Simon Graeber (Southern Oregon).
Elsewhere in open competition, Alejandro Castro went 2-2 in the 157 class.
In the freshman/sophomore weight classes, Lee Borders (3-2) and Kynan Savoie (2-2) had multiple wins at 157. Brandon Rau was 2-2 at freshman/sophomore 184.
