Siena Heights Men's Wrestling picked up its first dual meet wins of the season on the second day of the Blithe Duals at Cornerstone University on Saturday.
The Saints lost their first dual 51-5 to UW-Eau Claire, but then rebounded with a 33-15 win against St. Ambrose University.
Siena Heights closed out the tournament with a 43-9 win against Defiance College.
"The guys responded well to the challenges that two-day tournaments pose. We won close individual matches on Saturday by staying tough in difficult situations," said Head Coach Derrik Marry. "That's the difference in winning and losing team duals – one or two matches. They did what it takes to turn things around from our performance during day 1."
The Saints are now 2-5 this season.
Siena Heights is back in action Sunday, Dec. 11, when the Saints host NCAA No. 17 Adrian College in the battle for the Maple City Cup at 3 p.m.
Sunday's dual with the crosstown rival Bulldogs will be alongside the women's dual.
There will be a meet-and-greet with alumni and program supporters at 1:30 p.m. in the SHU Fieldhouse.
