SHU Grapplers Compete at Adrian Invitational

ADRIAN, Mich. -- Four members of the Siena Heights men's wrestling team competed at the Adrian College Invitational on Saturday.

Randy Frailey placed sixth in the 133-pound weight class after going 4-2 on the day. He began with a victory by fall in 1:20 over Angelo Kakoos from Macomb CC. Frailey then won by tech fall over Patrick Hebreard from Case Western. In the Quarterfinal round, Frailey suffered his first defeat by decision to Blake McGee from Wabash. A major decision win over Nathan Demangeont from Heidelberg advanced Frailey to the fifth-place match. In that match, Elijah Moshenek from Alfred State earned a 9-6 decision to take fifth place.

Christopher Sorrow was 2-2 for the day in the 149-pound weight class. Sorrow defeated Anthony Miraglia from Alfred State by fall and Jesus Bautista from Adrian by tech fall in his first two matches. Sorrow was defeated by Alex Barr from Wabash and Logan Balosky by fall to end his day. 

Devin Mohr wrestled lost both of his matches in the 184-pound weight class. The first defeat was a major decision to Jack Minner before losing by fall to Aidan Gassell from Case Western.

Jaylen Culver was 1-2 at 285 for the day. His first match was a bye before he earned a victory by fall over Keaton Renfrew of Alfred State. Culver lost by decision in the quarterfinal to Christopher Krum from Albion before facing defeat by sudden victory in his final match against Da'veon Parker from Heidelberg.

The Saint wrestlers will return to action on Saturday, November 20 when they travel to compete in the Albion Open.
