Women's Lacrosse Listed No. 10 in the NAIA

The Siena Heights women's lacrosse team rounded out the NAIA Preseason Coaches Top 10 Poll as the No. 10 team on the list, as announced on Wednesday.

The Saints received 42 points on the poll and were rated behind two WHAC members, No. 2 Lawrence Tech and No. 9 Aquinas.

SHU was ranked third on the WHAC Preseason Coaches' Poll, finishing behind unanimous No. 1 Lawrence Tech and Aquinas on that poll, as well.

Siena Heights finished 10-9 last season with a 7-2 mark in WHAC play. The Saints advanced to the WHAC Tournament finals and the NAIA Tournament, but were eliminated from both tournaments by the eventual national runner-up, LTU.

SHU returns a pair of All-WHAC honorees from last year, including two-time All-WHAC performer Emily Pringle.

Pringle was second on the team in both goals (46) and points (64). She was All-WHAC First Team in 2022 and Second Team in 2021.

Shelby Mueller, a junior defender, totaled 18 groundballs and 15 caused turnovers in 2022 as she was named to the All-WHAC Second Team. Mueller also had a goal and an assist.

The Saints have two exhibition games scheduled on Feb. 16 and 18 against Adrian and Hope, respectively, before opening regular-season play on Feb. 22 with a 4 p.m. visit from Thomas More.
