Women's Lacrosse Sophomore Kristin Delclos Chosen to Participate in the Red Cross Collegiate Leadership Program

Siena Heights women's lacrosse sophomore Kristin Delclos was one of the select group of student-athletes in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) to be chosen to participate in the Red Cross Collegiate Leadership Program in June 2020.

The program is in its 14th year of existence and is a collaboration between the American Red Cross, NCCAA, and the NAIA that strives to inspire a new generation of Red Cross volunteer leadership in conjunction with the five core values of the NAIA "Champions of Character" program.

The chosen student-athletes are afforded the opportunity to learn firsthand coaching, mentoring, and professional leadership training presented by leaders at the Red Cross. The program allows students to give back to their school and community by becoming a Red Cross ambassador through recruiting blood donors on their college campuses. "I think this opportunity really gives me a chance to better help my community and it gives me a chance to be in a leadership position for future blood drives," stated Delclos.

The training begins at the Red Cross National Headquarters in Washington, DC from June 1 through June 12 with energetic leadership coaching. " It's a great way to help broaden my career choices, and it sounds really fun to be able to go to Washington D.C to study for a few weeks," said Delclos. The students will be housed at George Washington University for the duration of the training in the nation's capital.
