ADRIAN, Mich. -- Siena Heights women's lacrosse head coach Coach Cindy Hill announced that she will officially retire on June 30.

"SHU is indebted to Coach Hill for starting a quality Women's Lacrosse Program," said Athletic Director Fred Smith. "She is a hard worker who loved her team and led the way in helping to develop Women's Lacrosse in both the NAIA and WHAC Conference.

Coach Hill started the Saint women's lacrosse program from scratch nine years ago and built the program to be a national contender during that time. During her tenure, Hill was named the WHAC Coach of the Year three straight years from  2015-17, She was also named the WHAC Champions of Character coach three times in 2013-15.

Since arriving at Siena Heights, Coach Hill led women's lacrosse program has produced 29 WHAC All-Academic student-athletes and 25 WHAC All-Conference players. She finishes her career at SHU with 58 wins and one NAIA National Tournament appearance in 2018.

"I have had a wonderful time at Siena. SHU gave me the opportunity to create a new team and I loved every minute of it," continued Coach Hill. "I was given the chance to affect lives. I'll take many fond memories with me! A few that come to mind is taking the team to Nationals last year and being the national All-Star Coach the first year the NWLL had a north/south all-star game.

Cindy and her husband Scott worked hard to make a family atmosphere for the program and she will now get to focus on her family moving forward.

"I look forward to spending more time with my family and taking trips with my husband," stated Coach Hill.

Coach Hill was a tireless recruiter and brought out of state student-athletes from Washington, Connecticut, Virginia, and South Carolina to Adrian, Michigan to play women's lacrosse at Siena Heights. Before coming to Siena, Hill was the varsity girls lacrosse coach at Tecumseh High School and her reputation there helped her recruit many outstanding in-state student-athletes to SHU as well.
