Three Saints Women's Lacrosse Players Awarded 2019 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete Award

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- Siena Heights juniors Danielle LaPointe, Mackenzie Fisette, and Natalie Williams were the three Saints women's lacrosse team member selected as a 2019 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete as announced by the national office on Friday afternoon. This is the first year for all of these student-athletes to be awarded an NAIA scholar-athlete. 

In order to be nominated by an institution, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status to qualify for this honor.

The 2019 list includes 63 women's lacrosse student-athletes from NAIA institutions across the country. Indiana Tech led all Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) members with four scholar-athletes this season. Siena Heights and Rochester tied for the second-most with three recipients. Lawrence Tech, Lourdes, and Aquinas each tied for third with two selections. Concordia (Mich.) and Madonna rounded out the WHAC schools represented with one award winner.
