Six Saints Chosen to All-WHAC Teams

The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) released the 2019 women's lacrosse awards this afternoon. Siena Heights senior Samantha Pawlowski (Saline, Mich.) and sophomore Jenna Sommerville (Clarkston, Mich.) represented the Saints on the first team All-WHAC. Katherine Tapia (Saline, Mich.), Alexis Nicole (Portage, Mich.), Kristin Delclos (Warrenton, Va.), and Mackenzie Fisette (South Lyon, Mich.) were members of the second team All-WHAC. 

Pawlowski finished with the second-most points this season with 53. She scored 43 goals (2nd on team) and had 10 assists (3rd) on the year while pulling in 50 ground balls (2nd). She was ninth in the league in goals per game with 2.90 and 10th in points per game with 3.60.

Sommerville was one of five repeat first-team selections from 2018. She led the Saints with 65 points (56+9=65). She was the biggest scoring threat for Siena Heights this season as she led the team in goals (56) and was fourth in the WHAC in goals per game (3.60) and fifth in points per game (4.20). She ranked fourth in the conference in shots per game averaging 7.40 a contest.

Tapia was the third-leading scorer for the Saints with 51 points (36+15=51). She was the best playmaker for Siena as she led the team with 15 assists on the season. Her goal total of 36 was the third highest. At the conference level, she ranked second in free-position goals per game (1.10) and seventh in shots per game (5.80).

Nicole was fourth in points with 43 (39+4=43). She led the Saints in draw controls (85), ground balls (54), and caused turnovers (28). Her draw controls per game mark of 7.62 led the WHAC and she tied for the third-best mark in ground balls per game with 4.00.

Delclos finished with 20 points (13+7=20) as a freshman. She hauled in 36 ground balls, 11 draw controls, and caused 18 turnovers. 

Fisette scored six times and had three assists for nine points as a defender for Siena. SH finished the year with 45 draw controls (3rd on team), 30 ground balls (6th), and eight caused turnovers (8th).

Danielle LaPointe (Rochester Hills, Mich.), Casey Rappuhn (Saginaw, Mich.), Natalie Williams (South Lyon, Mich.), Fisette, and Tapia were all on the All-Academic Team and Pawlowski was the SHU member on the Champions of Character team.
