Adrian, Mich. – The Siena Heights women's lacrosse team beat Franciscan this afternoon by a score of 16-8.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Siena and Franciscan trade a pair of goals to start the game off when Samantha Pawlowski scored for SHU then the Barons scored a goal to make it 1-1 game with 26 minutes left in the first half. Then SHU scored seven goals in a row starting off when Natalie Williams scored, followed by a goal from Alexis Nicole, and a goal from Katherine Tapia shortly after. With the score 4-1 with 22 minutes left in the first half, Jenna Sommerville added a goal then Williams scored again to make it 6-1. Mackenzie Fisette and Sommerville had two more goals to make SHU's lead 8-1. A pair a of goals by Franciscan made it 8-3. Kristin Delclos netted a ball for the Saints then Tapia, Sommerville, and Nicole added goals to give the Saints a 12-4 lead heading into halftime.
The second half was started off by the Barons scoring goal but Siena would respond with two goals from Williams and one by Nicole to make the lead 15-5. Franciscan added another goal by SHU equaled it out on the scoreboard as Sommerville added another goal to her total on the day. The Saints finished the game with a 16-8 victory.
