#9 Women's Lacrosse Defeats Madonna in WHAC Contest

LIVONIA, Mich. - The Siena Heights women's lacrosse team traveled to take on Madonna in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference contest on Wednesday. The Saints came away with the victory by a score of 16-7.

Madonna opened scoring, but the Saints quickly rattled off five unanswered goals to gain control of the contest. Throughout the remainder of the half, SHU scored five more goals and went into the half with a 10-4 lead. Siena Heights was able to expand its lead in the second half and walk away with the victory.

Marissa Cirino led the Saints (10-5, 6-5 WHAC) with five goals and added a team high two assists. Kayla Parks and Aliisa Mason each contributed three goals. Tabitha Ferguson grabbed the win in net making nine saves for SHU. 

Emily Johnson led the Crusaders (0-12, 0-10 WHAC) with five goals while Stephanie Mackley suffered the loss in goal, making 14 saves.

The Saints will be back in action on Saturday, April 15, when they host Lourdes in a WHAC contest at 2 p.m.
