Siena Heights alum Andrew Ioanou is the SHU head men's and women's golf coach, taking over the program from previous coach Al Sandifer, who was Ioanou's collegiate coach.
Ioanou, a 2016 SHU grad, joined the Saints' coaching staff as a graduate assistant in 2020 and took over the teams as interim head coach in 2022-23. He had previously attended Siena Heights from 2014 to 2016 after transferring from Schoolcraft. He graduated in 2016 with a bachelor's degree in business administration and then earned his masters in accounting from Siena Heights in 2022. Ioanou was part of a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference championship team in 2015-16 when the Saints won the regular-season crown.
The SHU golf teams racked up a collection of awards during Ioanou's interim year, including a pair of All-WHAC awards (Benjamin Ellis, First Team men, and Skylar Whitman, Second Team women). The Saints' golfers totaled six Academic All-WHAC awards. At the WHAC Championships, the men placed third while the women were fourth.
