The Siena Heights women's basketball team will play for the NAIA Women's Basketball National Championship after receiving the program's seventh-ever bid to the Opening Round Thursday night. The Saints were granted one of two automatic bids awarded to the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference. The other went to regular-season and tournament champ Indiana Tech.

SHU will head to Cumberlands (Ky.) for a Friday, March 15 contest. Cumberlands will also host an Opening Round matchup between Bryan and Mobile.  Winners of Friday's games meet Saturday.

The NAIA National Championship Opening Round divides the 64-team field into 16 four-team pods. The surviving 16 will advance to the final site in Sioux City, Iowa.
