Siena Heights sophomore Peyton Banks (Wadsworth, Ohio) highlighted the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) season awards as she was named the women's basketball player of the year and a first-team All-WHAC selection when the league office released the award winners this afternoon. Banks was joined on the first team All-WHAC by senior teammate Demi Rusell (Toledo, Ohio). Sophomore newcomer, Kelsey Wyman (Blissfield, Mich.) was the lone Saint representative on the second team. Senior Kiana Votava (Port Huron, Mich.) was selected to the all-defensive team, all-academic team, and the Champions of Character team. Marcia Hawkins-Day (Grand Rapids, Mich.), Ashley Nicosia (New Orleans, La.), Dakota Spears (Hudsonville, Mich.), and Addyson Tomczak (Bay City, Mich.) joined Votava on the all-academic squad.

Banks leads the Saints in scoring (16.3 PPG) and rebounding (8.5 RPG). She also leads the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) in free-throw percentage, making 92.3%. She is ranked 16th in the country in field-goal percentage (53.5%) and 23rd in total scoring (490 points). She is tied for the most WHAC player of the week awards this season with four. She leads the WHAC in field-goal percentage and double-doubles this season with 11. She is second in the WHAC in rebounds per game and third in scoring per game.

Rusell averages 14.3 PPG, 7.0 RPG, and leads the team in blocks with 19. She ranks 19th in the NAIA in field-goal percentage (52.5%). At the league level, Russell ranks second in field goal percentage. Russell was named the WHAC player of the week once this season back in January.

Wyman leads the Saint bench with 12.2 PPG and 3.4 RPG. She has scored 20+ points off the bench four times this season, three of those times she led the team in scoring for the game.

Votava finished the regular season by scoring nine points per game, 5.3 RPG, 13 blocks, and 26 steals. Her tough defensive play was a huge factor in the Saints holding opponents to just 59.6 points per game.

Hawkins-Day averaged 2.7 points per game, 1.9 rebounds, and totaled 14 blocks off the bench for the Saints.

Tomczak was fifth in scoring on the team with 8.5 PPG. She averaged 2.7 rebounds, dished the second-most assists (74), and had 37 steals.

Nicosia and Spears are student managers for the program and are the first two managers to earn all-academic for Siena Heights since the league allowed those students to be eligible for the honor at the beginning of this season.

The Siena Heights women's basketball team will host Rochester tonight at 7:30 p.m., EST, in the first round of the WHAC tournament.
