Peyton Banks Named WHAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week

Siena Heights women's basketball sophomore Peyton Banks (Wadsworth, Ohio) was named the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) women's basketball player of the week as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.

Banks led the Saints with a 27-point, 12-rebound double-double in an 84-74 win over (RV) West Virginia Tech on Sunday afternoon. She shot 9-17 from the floor, 1-4 from beyond the arc, and a perfect 8-8 from the charity stripe to lead Siena in scoring on the way to a 2-0 start this season. She was also the leading scorer in the Saints season-opening win against Great Lakes Christian on November 2. That game, however, did not factor into her player of the week selection.

This the first WHAC player of the week award for the Saints women's basketball team this season. It is the second of Bank's collegiate career as she won this award last February during the 2018-19 season.

Siena Heights welcomes UNOH to the SHU Fieldhouse tomorrow night for the first WHAC game of the year at 6:00 p.m., EST.
