Tomczak Hits Eight Threes, Scoring 28 to Lift Women's Basketball Over Alma

ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights women's basketball team hosted Alma in a non-conference contest on Friday. The Saints won the contest, 80-56.

The Saints opened scoring and the Scots gained their first lead with 5:03 left in the first period. The Saints took back the lead about two and a half minutes later on a three point basket made by Tomczak. Alma would take back the lead once more in the first period but was quickly overtaken again by Siena Heights. Throughout the second quarter the Saints separated themselves from the Scots and went into halftime with a 36-24 advantage.

A couple times in the third, Alma reduced their deficit to nine but the Saints were able to pull away and coast to the convincing victory.

Addyson Tomczak tied the  single game three point baskets made record with eight, tying Morgan Warfield (2014). Tomczak finished with a team and career high, 28 points on 8-14 (57%) shooting from three point land. She also added five rebounds and two assists.

Also helping the Saints offensively, adding double-figure scoring was Demi Russell with 13 and Alyssa Larson with 10. Larson led the Saints with nine rebounds and two blocks. Azalea Miller finished with a career high nine assists.

Leading the Scots was Chloee King with 13 points. Emily Eldridge finished with nine rebounds while Madison Hill dished out three assists.

From the floor, Siena Heights finished 27-64 (42.2%), 10-24 (41.7%) from three and 16-24 (66.7%) from the free throw line. Alma shot 19-55 (34.5%) from the field, 6-24 (25%) from behind the arc and 12-23 (52.2%) from the charity stripe.

Next up, the Saints will host Indiana University-Kokomo on Friday, Dec. 29. Tip off is set for 7:30 p.m.
