Softball Drops a Pair to Indiana Tech

ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights softball team lost a pair of WHAC games against Indiana Tech, 8-0 and 7-3, on Monday at Christensen Memorial Softball Field.

The Saints (15-23, 5-13) play next on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.

 

Game one: Indiana Tech 8, Siena Heights 0

The Saints had four hits as Shyann Truax, Ally Frank, Emma Marshall and Avery Schellenberger all reached safely.

Truax was the starting pitcher. She was charged with four earned runs on 11 hits in five innings.

Indiana Tech took a 2-0 lead in the first and tacked on one more in the fourth, three in the fifth and two in the seventh.

 

Game two: Indiana Tech 7, Siena Heights 3

Siena Heights plated three runs in the opening inning to take a 3-1 lead before the Warriors scored six unanswered runs.

Kat Moreau (double), Courtnee Chappetta (double) and Julia Hogston had two hits. Schellenberger doubled.

Moreau and Chappetta hit RBI two-baggers and Truax followed with an RBI in the first.

Indiana Tech tied the game at 3-3 and then took the lead with a three-run fourth.
