Softball Drops a Pair to Concordia to end the regular season

The Siena Heights Softball Team dropped a pair of games to Concordia to end the regular season by scores of 5-3 and 10-5.

In game one, the Saints found themselves down early in the game and fought back, but weren't able to string the hits together soon enough, falling by a score of 5-3.  Lesley Ducat took the loss on the mound with the complete game.  Kelsey Cherry, Megan Jones, Kris Forest, and Kenya Keller all had hits, with Lexi Agers adding two hits.

In the second game, with rain falling throughout the Saints once again found themselves down early, down by eight runs after four innings.  Rather than seeing the game end in five with the run rule, SHU battled back and scored three in the fifth before adding two more in the seventh to create the final score of 10-5.  Arica Vasquez started the game and took the loss on the mound.  Agers added another hit on the day with Kelsie Abbott notching two hits, Jones adding another hit, Forest notching three hits, Chery adding a hit, and Amy Nordstom adding two hits.

With the losses, the Saints end the regular season with a record of 26-22 and 10-8 in the WHAC.  They finish the league season tied for fifth.  They will return to action in opening the WHAC tournament on Wednesday night at 6 pm.  The bracket for the tournament will be released at a later time.
