Stern Places Ninth to Lead Men's XC at Great Lakes Challenge

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- Andrew Stern ran to a ninth-place finish in the White 8K Race as the Siena Heights men's cross country team competed at the NAIA Great Lakes Invitational on Saturday.

Stern hit the finish line in 26:58 to lead the Saints. Tyler Landis added a 25th-place finish in 27:24.

Other scorers for SHU were Nethanel Leupold, who was 79th in 28:43; Henry Frederick, 98th in 29:12; and Blake Schroeder, 142nd in 30:32.

Madonna's Mehdi Nait Hamoud won the individual race in 26:21 while Indiana Wesleyan won the 32-team field with 48 points.

Siena Heights placed 11th as a team with 300 points. SHU's Top 5 registered 9-24-68-86-113 in the official tally.
