Men's Volleyball Drops Four-Set Match To #6 Cornerstone

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- The Siena Heights men's volleyball team dropped a 3-1 contest to sixth-ranked Cornerstone in WHAC competition on Friday night. Set scores were 25-17, 25-19, 23-25, 25-19.

Daniel Rua had 18 kills to lead the Saints while Zak Tucker totaled 31 assists and seven aces. Jonathan Stovring added six kills for SHU.

The Saints trailed 2-0 in the match and 22-15 in the third set before staging a 10-1 comeback run to force a fourth set. Tucker had two aces, a block, a kill and an assist during the rally.

SHU nearly pulled off another comeback in the fourth. It was down 15-7 and then pulled within 21-19. Cornerstone (13-1, 6-1) then ended the match with four straight points.

Siena Heights (6-7, 3-4) will return to action Tuesday with a 7 p.m. WHAC contest at Aquinas.
