RIO GRANDE, Ohio -- The Siena Heights men's volleyball team split a pair of matches on Saturday during the Rio Grande Invitational. The Saints opened the day with a 3-0 victory against Oakland City and then fell to Life, 3-1.

The Saints (2-3) will play next when they open WHAC action at home Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. against Lawrence Tech.

Siena Heights 3, Oakland City 0 (SHU 27-25, 25-17, 25-19)

Daniel Rua planted 12 kills while Dominic Rees finished with 11 kills and four blocks. Jonathan Stovring had eight kills and four blocks.

Also for SHU, Zak Tucker totaled 30 assists and four aces, Yeban Youn made 11 digs and Andrew Sliwinski was in on four blocks.

Life 3, Siena Heights 1 (Life 25-23, 25-19, 20-25, 25-22)

Rua smacked 10 kills and Santiago Salazar finished with 18 kills.

Tucker finished with an all-around effort of 31 assists, 11 digs and two aces. Payton Hastings had three blocks.
