Men's Volleyball Loses in Five at Goshen

GOSHEN, Ind. -- The Siena Heights men's volleyball team played a five-set marathon for the second straight match, ultimately falling to WHAC opponent Goshen (Ind.) on Friday night. The Maple Leafs won with set scores of 20-25, 25-22, 25-12, 25-27, 15-12.

Jakob Pickett totaled 12 kills and Bernard Bell finished with 10 kills and six blocks for the Saints (5-15, 3-14). Zak Tucker added 43 assists and 15 digs. Marc Arsenault contributed nine kills and two aces to the SHU effort.

Siena Heights closed the opening set with a six-point run to take a 1-0 match lead.

After falling behind 2-1, the Saints forced the fifth and deciding set after the fourth went to extra points. SHU held set point four times before finally finishing off the set.

In the fifth, Goshen jumped in front with the first two points and never trailed in the set.

Siena Heights will finish its season on Saturday at Bethel (Ind.).
