
ADRIAN, Mich. – The Siena Heights men's volleyball team defeated Judson 3-0 on Saturday afternoon in the SHU Fieldhouse. Kevin Gomez led the Saint attack with 10 kills in the winning effort.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Saints jumped out to a 4-1 lead early in the first set. Siena used runs of 4-0 and 3-0 to build a 17-10 lead before closing out the set with a six-point decision for the 1-0 lead. SHU tallied five service aces in the set, three of which came from Alex Garvalia.
Siena jumped out to a 6-2 lead in the second set before the Eagles were able to cut the lead to two points (8-6). A 4-0 run by the Saints would build a 14-7 advantage. Siena would eventually build a 20-11 lead before closing out the second set with a win and a 2-0 lead. The Saints finished the second with zero attack errors and a team hitting percentage of .440.
Judson started the third with a 4-1 lead. The Eagles would build a 9-4 lead, their largest of the match. Siena would cut the deficit to two points (13-11) before tying things at 16 and again at 17. A 3-0 run by Judson put the score at 20-17, advantage Judson before the Saints tied things at 21 and 22. One SHU kill and two Judson errors later and the match was over with a 25-22 set-three victory to the Saints.
TOP SAINTS
• Gomez finished with a .500 hitting percentage and two blocks to help Siena to the win.
• Keegan Crawford paced the Siena attack with 25 assists. He also registered eight digs, three kills, three blocks, and three aces.
• Emilier De Jesus held down the defense with a match-high 13 digs. He also finished with two aces, two assists, and a block.
• Emmanuel Chaidez had a match-high seven blocks.
• Garavalia recorded nine kills and a team-high three aces.
THE OPPOSITION
• Kaimi Ahn-DiFolco and Jacob Wallin led the Eagles with eight kills.
• Tom Kurzynski led the team with 32 assists.
• Fidel Sanchez finished with a team-high nine digs.
