Compagner Wins Hammer on Day 1 of 2018 WHAC Outdoor Track and Field Championship

ADRIAN, Mich. – Jacob Compagner won the hammer throw in the first day of the 2018 WHAC Outdoor Track and Field Championship for the Siena Heights men's track and field team, on Thursday.

In his fifth throw of the day, Compagner managed a toss of 55.52 meters to win the hammer throw. Robert Drew managed second as he threw 48.00 meters. Zachery Kunst also managed points for the Saints as he took eighth with a 44.60 meter toss.

In the 4x800 meter relay, SHU took fourth place with a time of 7:55.27. The team consisted of Jareb Duggan, Jordan Parkinson, Liam Heaney and Brent Rodden.

Also earning points for the Saints was Bradley Bauer in the 10,000 meter run, crossing the finish line at 34:43.81 for eighth place.

The Saints sit in fifth as a team with 23 points while Indiana Tech leads Aquinas by one point, 41 and 40 respectively. In third and fourth with 34 and 31 points are Madonna and Cornerstone while Concordia has 19 points.

Siena Heights will continue in the Championship meet on Friday, starting at 3:30 p.m. with field events with running events beginning at 4:30.
