HILLSDALE, Mich. – The Siena Heights men's track and field team took sixth place in the Hillsdale "Wide-Track" Meet in a 21-team field, on Friday and Saturday. SHU earned two automatic-bids, a provisional-bid and two first place finishes at the meet.
The meet consisted of NCAA DI, DII, DIII and NAIA programs as SHU took sixth with a score of 65 points. Winning with 152 points was Eastern Michigan.
Breaking the meet and facility record with an automatic-qualifying time of 1:21.43 was Brent Rodden, taking first place in the 600m run.
Winning the 3,000 meter run was Bradley Bauer with a time of 9:27.46, besting the 26-person field.
Jacob Compagner threw an automatic-distance of 56 feet, 1 ¾ inches in the weight throw to take sixth place in the 38-person field.
In the shot put, Robert Drew threw a provisional-distance of 51 feet to earn fifth place out of 50 competitors.
Blaine Ellington managed a second place finish in the 60 meter dash with a time of 6.95 seconds, 0.02 seconds off of a provisional mark.
Tying for third place in the pole vault was Rees Nemeth, clearing 15 feet.
Isiah Wyatt-Young managed third place in the 800m run with a time of 2:01.095.
Next up, Siena Heights will travel to Defiance (Ohio) and Grand Valley State on Friday and Saturday.
