Saints Stay Unbeaten in WHAC Play with Win Over Taylor

ADRIAN, Mich. – The Siena Heights men's lacrosse team scored eight-straight goals to pull away from Taylor (Ind.) in a 16-4 win inside O'Laughlin Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The Saints (4-3, 3-0 WHAC) remain unbeaten with a 3-0 record in league play this season.

Eric Csizmadia recovered from a quiet first half to lead SHU with eight points (4 goals, 4 assists) on the afternoon. Jake Gallaher (5 goals, 1 assist) and Devin Plemmons (3 goals, 3 assists) finished with six points. Fernando Robison finished with a career-high 19 ground balls. Robison also went 22-24 in faceoffs as he dominated through 60 minutes of play. Vinnie Jean (W, 4-3) made seven saves between the pipes as he earned his fourth win of 2022.

The Trojans jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the opening five minutes of play. Robison put Siena on the board with an unassisted score off a faceoff to cut the Taylor deficit in half with 9:45 in the first. Gallaher scored his first goal of the game seven minutes later to knot things up at two. Matthew Quillen gave the home team the lead with a score at the 2:09 mark of the first. Gallaher completed his sixth hat trick of the year with back-to-back goals to finish off the scoring of the opening period for a 5-2 SHU advantage.

Csizmadia scored off an assist from Plemmons in the second to extend the lead to 6-2. Gallaher scored twice more to push the lead to 8-2. Plemmons and Csizmadia recorded assists on the two Gallaher goals. Taylor netted its third goal in the closing minute of the first half as the score sat at 8-3 as the teams entered halftime.

Plemmons earned his first goal of the game in the first minute of the second half to push the lead to 9-3. The final goal by the Trojans was scored at 11:58 of the third. Ryan Moore, Plemmons, and Csizmadia scored the remaining goals of the third as Siena held a 13-4 lead going into the fourth.

Quillen, Csizmadia, and Plemmons scored in the game's final period to help secure the blowout win for the Saints.
