Jeff Putz Named WHAC Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week

Siena Heights junior defenseman Jeff Putz was named the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) men's lacrosse defensive player of the week when the league office announced the players of the week this afternoon.

Putz had a phenomenal performance in the 17-8 win over No. 6 Concordia (Mich.). He hauled in a school-record 14 ground balls in the game. He also won 21 faceoffs (.778) to contribute to the victory. The Holly, Michigan native leads the Saints with 47 ground balls on the season. He is also the primary faceoff taker winning 63 of 96 faceoffs for a team-high .656 winning percentage.

This is Putz's first player of the week award of his career and the first player of the week honor for the men's lacrosse team this season.
