This Week for the Saints: The Siena Heights University men's lacrosse team hosts Indiana Tech in the team's 2021 season home opener to begin the week. The Saints haven't had a regular-season game since the March 6 matchup at Cumberlands. Siena Heights and Lourdes will then make up the game that has been postponed twice on Monday, April 5.

Winning Tradition: Siena Heights is 86-51 all-time in men's lacrosse. The Saints are 9-9 the past two seasons (2020 was cut short after just two games due to COVID). SHU averages over 8 wins a season during the first 10 seasons as a varsity sport.

At Home: The Saints are 6-3 in home openers during the program's history. SHU has won the last five home openers by a combined total of 72-36.  The most lopsided of those victories was a 14-0 outing in 2017 against Concordia (Mich.).

Siena Heights and Indiana Tech have met once during a Saint-season home opener. That game took place on 3/13/2015 and the Saints won 14-7.

On the Road: Siena Heights is 37-30 all-time in road contests. This season, the Saints started on the road with an 11-5 win over the University of the  Cumberlands.

Home Opening Scoring: SHU has outscored opponents 97-65 in the first home game of the season. It has been over two years since the Saints have hosted a home-opening game. The last one was a 19-11 win over Tennessee Wesleyan that kicked off the 2019 season.

Last Time Out: SHU 18, Taylor 9
The Saints (2-0) topped Taylor (Ind.) 18-9 Saturday in non-conference action. Jake Gallaher, Garnet Potter, Devin Plemmons, and Alec Emerson each had three goals, with Vinnie Jean making 11 saves in goal for SHU.

Series History: Indiana Tech: The series is tied at four wins each in the series between the Saints and Warriors. Indiana Tech won the first two meetings in the series before SHU went on a three-game winning streak. The teams have traded wins since 2018 with the Warriors winning the most recent matchup, 20-8, in the 2019 season.

Lourdes: Siena Heights leads the all-time series 5-3 against Lourdes. The Saints have a two-game winning streak in the series that includes the overtime thriller from the 2019 season in which the Saints scored with just seconds left in the extra period to pull out the win. The Grey Wolves have only won once inside O'Laughlin Stadium and that victory was the first-ever meeting back in 2014.
