Men's Basketball Rolls Past Miami-Middletown

ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights men's basketball team defeated non-conference opponent Miami-Middletown, 70-49 on Saturday. 

Matt Selmon, Nate Houston III, and Jasiah Rainey all led the Saints in scoring with nine points. Danilo Rajlic added 10 rebounds while scoring eight points.  

SHU 4-7 (2-3) started the game out on a 6-0 run until Miami-Middletown went on a 10-2 scoring run to take a 10-8 lead in the early minutes. After Miami-Middletown's run, the Saints took the lead back at 12-10 and did not trail the remainder of the game, as Miami-Middletown only tied the game once more at 16-16 with 7:41 remaining in the first half. The Saints ended the half on a 17-6 run to take a 33-22 lead at halftime. 

In the second half, the Saints momentum from the end of the first half continued as they pulled away and outscored the Thunderhawks 37-27 in the second half. 

On the afternoon, the Saints shot 56.0% from the floor, 37.5% from behind the three point line, and outrebounded Miami-Middletown by nine with a 39-30 edge on the glass. 

The Saints will return to action on Monday, Dec. 16, with an 11:00 a.m. EST game vs non-conference opponent, East-West.
