Men's Basketball Holds Off Michigan-Dearborn

DEARBORN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights men's basketball team came out on top against WHAC conference opponent Michigan-Dearborn 72-65 on Saturday. 

Jonas Tester led the way for the Saints with 20 points and three rebounds while Kobe Clark had a near double-double with 11 points and nine rebounds. Danilo Rajlic also crashed the boards for the Saints, adding nine rebounds. 

SHU 2-4 (2-1) found themselves up at halftime leading 33-27. The Saints jumped out to a 12-point lead at 33-21 with 3:39 left in the first half, then Michigan-Dearborn ended the half on a 6-0 run. 

Michigan-Dearborn's momentum from the first half continued into the second half, as they regained the lead at 37-35, which was their first lead since the 13:08 mark in the first half when they held a 9-8 lead. 

Michigan-Dearborn ended up extending their lead to seven at 59-52 with 4:17 remaining in the game. SHU then managed to go on a 12-0 run in a span of 2:43 to take a 64-59 lead. The Saints then closed the game out at the free throw line to hold off Michigan-Dearborn 72-65.  

On the afternoon, the Saints shot 40.7% from the floor and 25.0% from behind the arc. 

The Saints will return to action on Tuesday, Nov. 26, with an 8:00 p.m. EST game at Adrian College.
